This was a midterm project for my draping class. The assignment was to make a garment out of non-textile materials. I chose black trash bags because they resembled leather. That then led to my design idea, that was inspired by Edward Scissorhands. I also wanted it to look like something I would wear if it weren't for a half-scale dress form.

 

Materials used:

• Main part of Garment: 1 black trash bag

• Petticoat: 10 small clear trash liners

• Belts: Black Duct Tape

• Design Details: Eyelets, Brads (the brads are what look like screws), and Ribbon for the lace-up back.

• Small Belt Buckles: Soda Tabs

• Big Belt Buckle: Made out of Galvanized Wire and Apoxie Sculpt.
