So, this top was inspired by “My Chemical Romance’s” frontman Gerard Way’s velvet jacket that he wore in the music video “Helena”, which he pretty much wore for the whole “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge” album tour (hence the name for this top). I know it’s not a jacket, and it’s not supposed to be, I just wanted to make something with velvet that would fit the feel of that album.

 

Also, I made the piping myself (the velvet stuff you see in the seams of the top), and the method I used to create the pattern for this top was draping.
