This was a project for my draping final. The design was based on the jacket from the music video “Welcome to the Black Parade”, by My Chemical Romance. They are one of my favorite bands, not to mention my favorite costume designer Colleen Atwood designed those jackets. The assignment was to create an entire outfit, so I chose to make sailor style shorts (the shorts were my original design, inspired by the jacket). The Jacket was draped, and then the sleeves, epaulets, and shorts were drafted.

The entire outfit has 59 buttons that were all sewn by hand. There is also a lining for the jacket.
